Ask for a workable order plan, not one universal MOQ

The practical minimum can differ by model, colour, component configuration, packaging and production availability. Share the destination, selected models, colour mix and total target quantity so the supplier can explain which parts of the plan are flexible and which require a production minimum.

Separate model quantity from total shipment quantity

A buyer may have enough volume for a shipment but not enough for every model and colour combination. Ask how many units are required per model and per colour, then compare that with the total container plan. This produces a clearer negotiation than discussing only one headline number.

Use a focused trial range

For a first order, prioritise a small number of products that cover clear retail price points. Concentrating volume can make production and spare-parts planning easier while still giving the market a useful range.

Negotiate with complete commercial information

A serious sourcing brief gives the supplier more options to solve the order plan. Include your company and market, model shortlist, quantities, destination port, branding needs, target date and preferred trade term. Confirm the final minimums, specifications and packing in the quotation and order documents.
